Tŷ-Bloc

Tŷ-Bloc is a sustainable, resource-efficient insulating block made from British-grown natural fibres and a lime-based binder, being developed through a collaboration between Tŷ-Mawr Lime Ltd, Miscrete Ltd, and Exeter and Bristol Universities.

Designed as a non-load-bearing block, it offers excellent thermal, acoustic, and moisture-regulating properties, contributing to a comfortable and healthy indoor environment.

Manufactured in Wales using low-carbon materials and air-dried in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Tŷ-Bloc significantly reduces emissions compared to traditional concrete masonry units (CMUs). Research into different fibres and binders continues.
