Can I make my own Limewash?

You can make your own limewash in a number of ways:

• Buying our lime putty and watering down and whisking to the consistency of single cream 
• Buying one of our natural hydraulic limes – usually an NHL2 – and watering down and whisking to the consistency of single cream 
• Doing a hot mix limewash from slaking quicklime (this will involve a volatile powder, heating and boiling water splashing so you need to be very aware of health and safety. We have two options, the easiest to handle would be the CAL90 quicklime available for purchase here.
