Is your Thermafleece Sheeps Wool Insulation susceptible to moth attack?

The wool we use contains a borax based fire retardant and does not require the addition of an insecticide. Hemp fibres are not susceptible to moth attack. You can read more on the data sheet here.
The wool currently used in Thermafleece is treated with a borax fire retardant. Wool is immersed in a solution of borax at the final rinsing stages of the wool scouring process ensuring that borax penetrates all the wool fibres. Treated wool is batch tested to ensure minimum borax levels are achieved prior to the raw material being released for production. Wool treated in this way is not susceptible to clothes moths and does not require the addition of a biocide such as permethrin. Borax is a permanent treatment and renders Thermafleece safe from moth infestation for the life of the insulation. I have attached an information sheet that explains things in more detail as well as a declaration of performance that lists the insect lab test reference number.
