I need help with Retrofit Insulation solutions for Solid Wall Buildings.

In the UK, 1 in 4 of our homes are classed as 'old' and are primarily 'solid' wall construction. Approximately 45 of the heat loss of an uninsulated solid walled home is through the walls, 25% through the roof and 15% through the floors.

In the drive towards energy savings and carbon savings we are being encouraged to insulate our homes, but care must be taken with older buildings as they need to 'breathe' i.e. manage moisture. Therefore any insulation solution must be 'breathable' to avoid the problems that we know are associated with trapped moisture.

At Ty-Mawr we have developed a number of insulation systems using environmentally-friendly materials that both respect and support the nature of these buildings as well as the planet. These systems are now all registered with Local Authority Building Control (LABC).
