Can I use sawn larch laths when the centres are greater than 400mm?

Using sawn larch laths on centres greater than 400mm is not recommended because it can compromise the structural integrity of the laths. The wider spacing can cause the laths to bend, warp, or sag over time due to insufficient support. This may lead to uneven surfaces and reduced durability. For optimal strength and longevity, it is essential to maintain a closer spacing, ideally 400mm or less, to ensure the laths remain securely fixed and stable. If spacings are over 400mm then consider using sawn oak laths.
