Ty-Mawr has been running courses in traditional and sustainable building skills and techniques since 1996 on the site of their head office, on the shore of Llangors Lake in Mid Wales. The restored training centre is based in a beautiful complex of Grade II* listed buildings, formerly the farmstead on the site of a former Elizabethan Manor House, in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park in Mid Wales. The refurbished Training Centre was opened on 22nd June 2009 by Their Majesties The King and The Queen. The site is still the businesses manufacturing head quarters, an ongoing restoration project of the family home of the founders and a working small holding with apple orchards, lots of livestock (conservation grazing), traditional meadows and a kitchen garden.
